National announcement today stating over 70’s and Clinically Extremely Vulnerable will be able to access the vaccine. These people fall into cohorts 3 and 4.

They will receive a letter this week inviting them to use the national booking system inviting them to use a mass vaccination centre.  This currently means Newcastle, in February there will be a Darlington Mass vaccination site. If people are able and willing to travel to Newcastle they are able to do this. If they go to Newcastle for their first jab, they will need to go back there for their 2nd jab in 3 months.

Our Local Vaccination Centre (run by local GPs) is still focussing on those most in need of the vaccine (Cohorts 1 and 2).  We hope that by next week most of this cohort will have been booked in.  At that point we will be in contact with the next cohorts.  Unfortunately, we are not able to put our appointments on the national booking system, this is causing some confusion.  We will contact you by text with the local booking link when your cohort is able to book or we will contact you by telephone.

We can only offer appointments for vaccine that we are given. As soon as we are alerted to more vaccine deliveries we will get appointments added to the system.
